For almost 200 years, the Braemar Gathering has been a highlight of the sporting calendar in Scotland. Nestled beneath bucolic, heather-strewn mountains, it is the most prominent and well-attended Highland games in the world, drawing vast crowds from across the globe.
Held at The Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park each September in the beautiful Cairngorms village of Braemar, it is the proud continuation of an ancient tradition of Gatherings here — one that can be traced back to the time of King Malcolm Canmore, over 900 years ago.
The Gathering has been run in its present form since 1832. Queen Victoria attended in 1848, and since then it has been regularly attended by the reigning Monarch and members of the British Royal Family.

Held on the first Saturday of September each year, the cherished Scottish tradition is not to be missed. Experience the one-day event which has been running since 1832 at The Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park in the beautiful Cairngorms village of Braemar.

We welcome all to the prominent and well-attended Highland gathering, situated in the picturesque village of Braemar in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park.
Make Unforgettable Memories
The Gathering starts at 9am and will finish around 5pm. The Massed Bands parade at 11.30am from the Invercauld Arms Hotel and at 3pm from Auchendryne Square. Please consult this year’s listings for a full schedule of Gathering events.
There is free parking available for all Gathering attendees, located at the entrance to the village of Braemar — approximately 10 minutes walk from The Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park. Please note, on-street parking is not permitted in Braemar on the day of the Gathering.
Unfortunately, dogs (with the exception of Guide Dogs / Assistance Dogs) are not permitted within the Games Park — and this includes keeping dogs in vehicles in the car park.
